Who we are, what we stand for, how we invest your capital
We are an active equity funds manager employing a value-oriented approach to deploying capital and creating value for our clients. We believe that environmental, social and governance (‘ESG’) factors can have a significant impact on business, equity risk and performance. Incorporating ESG into our investment process assists us in understanding the long-term opportunities and risks for our investee companies, as well as their strategies and cultures. Additionally, this aligns with our client objectives of delivering superior long-term returns while also making sound ESG observant investment decisions.
About the Value Earth Fund
We seek to invest primarily in small cap and microcap businesses in developed markets around the world that meet our ESG criteria. The Fund will not invest in businesses engaged in certain activities, including fossil fuel production, gambling or the production of alcohol and tobacco, among others. For a full list of exclusions and their associated revenue thresholds, please see the Responsible Investment Policy. Beyond simply avoiding companies engaged in certain business activities, where possible, we will invest in companies that are actively ‘doing good’ by contributing to one or more of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (‘SDGs’).
Donating part of our management fees
As part of our commitment to the environmental aspect of ESG and to make our commitment to the environment more tangible, we have committed to donating 5% of our management fees from the Value Earth Fund to the Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife (‘FNPW’). The proceeds from these charitable donations will be used to plant trees in Australia, and we will be tracking the cumulative impact of these donations over time.
